How it works - it's simple!
For the client
You ring Liz or Rachel and ask for someone to drive you to your appointment. A driver contacts you to arrange a pick up time. At some point during your visit you will be asked for a contribution to the costs of the Society which will be put into an envelope. Guidelines for amounts for trips are based on 50p a mile with a minimum of £4. Contributions are not compulsory but if you can manage a reasonable sum this is much appreciated and goes a long way to keeping our special service in operation. If there are particular requirements you can discuss these with Liz or Rachel. Someone may ring up on your behalf - eg a family member, friend or neighbour.
For the driver
Liz or Rachel will ring you and ask if you can do a particular trip. If this is possible you then contact the client to discuss arrangements. After the trip you take the envelope containing the money and return it to the society. You also record your mileage so you can claim expenses from the treasurer.
